It was in 2015 when the industry was taken by storm after Far Rockaway Queens based artist known as Chinx Drugz was murdered in a drive by shooting. Yesterday (Dec. 14th), the rapper’s alleged murderers were taken into custody after being on the loose nearly three years. Now NYPD officials are revealing what led up to Chinx’s murder.
According to XXL, Lieutenant Richard Rudolph stated that Jamar Hill (26) and Quincy Homere (32) plotted to murder the rising rap star and hunted him down as a result of an altercation that occurred while Chinx was incarcerated on Rikers Island in 2009.
Homere was an aspiring rapper who went by the name Qwality. He started to take Chinx’s rise to fame very personal which created a hatred inside of him for Chinx.
The feud between Homere and Chinx would pick back up in 2015 when Homere showed up to a Philadelphia performance in which the Far Rockaway rapper was in attendance. French Montana, Neef Buck, and Uncle Murda were also at the show. Homere and Chinx would have a verbal altercation. “Quincy was blacklisted from the other rap stars. Quincy’s steaming since that concert. I think that’s when he started to feel a fire inside of him to take his revenge out on Chinx,” stated Rudolph.
It would be a little less than month later when Chinx would be performing at Red Wolf Lounge in Brooklyn. Homere and Hill would find out about the performance via Inastagram. They would follow the rapper after his performance hunting him down. Homere who is said to be the shooter, fired shots into his Porsche around 4 a.m. hitting Chinx and his friend, who survived, Coke Boyz affiliate Yemen Cheese.
Hill and Homere have each been charged with second-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. They both face 25 years to life if convicted.
