So much can be said about the late great rapper from Queens, Chinx. Gunned down in his hometown a little over a year ago, his death shocked the industry. That hasn’t stopped the young legend’s music from being heard. With any posthumous album, they never seem to live up to the hype put behind it…but this one did.
A new Chinx album was released this week making that his second posthumous album. The album is titled Legends Never Die. Production is on point as usual and was handled by Harry Fraud, Blickie Blaze, Austin Powerz, and more. To say this album shows how much potential he had, would be an understatement. Mr. Drugz really could’ve been the next up. His comfortability on the production makes for easy story telling of his struggles, and his successes. A lot of people say they get the same feeling when listening to Bankroll Fresh (RIP as well).
Chinx worked with a lot of artists in the industry all of which had nothing but great things to say about him. A few of those artists are featured on Legends Never Die, such as: Meet Sims, Stack Bundles, Chrisette Michelle, Movado, and very close friend French Montana.
The song getting the most love is featuring French Montana and Movado, titled Legendary. Harry Fraud compliments the track with piercing production of electric guitar. Movado laces the hook saying:
“I’m legendary And nigga when I’m gone you’re gonna see my name in bronze I’m legendary And tomorrow will come and you’ll see me through the sun I’m legendary, I’m visionary So many brothers wanna see me buried I’m legendary, I’m visionary Legendary, legendary”
The album is definitely a bittersweet listen considering the amount of talent Chinx had. Check it out below & purchase on iTunes today.
