These days, it’s tough for Drake to take any L’s. Call him what you’d like but some are calling him the best to ever to it. Drizzy just surpassed one of hip hops GOATs, Jay-Z, by now having the most Top 10 hits by a rapper on Billboard.
Drake dropped two singles titled God’s Plan and Diplomatic Immunity. God’s Plan debuted at Number 1 on the Hot 100 Chart. That’s his second one as a solo artist. The first was his Kyla and Wizkid assisted single, One Dance. He also had a third and fourth single go number one but both were features on the Rihanna songs Work and What’s My Name?. God’s Plan destroyed records for streaming on both Apple Music and Spotify with 127,000 digital downloads and a record breaking 68million streams in the US.
Diplomatic Immunity also shot up the charts, entering the Top 10 at Number 7. Alongside Ed Sheeran, Drake is the second artist in history to debut two singles in the Top 10 at the same time. With these two songs in the Top 10, that makes 22 total (including features) for Drake passing up HOV’s 21.
With the success of these two singles, it will be interesting to see the levels of success Scary Hours has as a whole. At this point in Drake’s career, it is undeniable that he will go down as one of the greatest. Women lie, men lie, numbers don’t lie.
