Fredo Santana’s Father, Big Shug, Describes His Son’s Death As ‘The Worst Day Of His Life’

Hip-Hop mourned on the morning of Saturday, January 20th, when news broke that Chicago star Fredo Santana had passed away at the tender age of 27 after having a seizure. It was publicized that in 2017 the rapper was hospitalized while suffering from kidney and liver failure, due to his battle with the addiction of lean.

Shortly after having a health scare Fredo would speak out on the use of drugs in Hip-Hop via Twitter. He would make a strong statement tweeting, “Hopefully I can be the face to sho n*ggas to slow down an we got our whole life ahead of us f*ck being rock stars gettin high I got ptsd. I was running from my old life tryna get high didn’t want to face them demons. I’m getting help I might just go to rehab. Gino found me on da floor shaking bleeding out the mouth having a seizure sh*t could a been the end.”

While many are mourning the passing of the young rapper, no one may be hurting as much as his father, Big Shug. Fredo’s father took to Instagram to thank everyone for the support he would receive during these hard times. He would say that he’s ‘lost for words’ call the passing of his son ‘the worst day of his life’. Shug would write in a Instagram post, “I wanna thank my wife for picking up of the floor cause I couldn’t stand, I wanna thank my family for showing what we are about, next I would like thank my sons true friends in the industry for showing your support, & next I did not know the magnitude of souls & hearts my son had reached until today.”

Rest In Peace Fredo Santana.
