Street Fight King: Kimbo Slice Dies At 42, The Hip-Hop World Reacts

KimboSlicePopular street fighter turned MMA star, Kevin Ferguson aka Kimbo Slice, passed away on June 6. Reports state that Ferguson could not be revived after having a heart attack Monday night.

He made his name by becoming popular on YouTube partaking in legendary unsanctioned backyard brawls and would later transition into MMA in 2007 making his debut against Ray Mercer at Cage Fury Fighting Championships 5. He would later take on boxing around 2011 making his debut against James Wade at the Buffalo Run Casino in Miami, Oklahoma and would make his way back to MMA in 2015. Kimbo’s Slice last fight was February 19, 2016 against Dada 5000, Slice would win the fight via TKO but that would later be changed to a no contest after Slice tested positive for the anabolic steroid, Nadrolone.

Before becoming a star in the MMA ring, Slice was legendary on the streets and style very much screamed hip-hop. Slice sported a gold chain with a gold fist for the charm, gold teeth, & in my opinion made the “Rick Ross beard” popular before Ross. He will be missed in the hip-hop community as much as he will be missed in the ring. Rest in power, Kevin Ferguson, Street Fight King.

Bless up ?? #RIPKimbo #Miami #305
