Russian Boxer Maxim Dadashev Dies From In Ring Boxing Brain Injuries

According to ESPN Russian boxer, Maxim Dadashev, has died from his injuries he suffered in a Friday night fight in Maryland.

Trainer Buddy McGirt and strength and conditioning coach Donatas Janusevicius confirmed the news to the website. McGirt threw in the towel after the 11th round against Subriel Matias and Dadashev was rushed to UM Prince George’s Hospital Center.

The 28-year-old underwent surgery to relieve a subdural hematoma — a brain bleed — before being placed in a medically induced coma.

Dadashev had to have the right side of his skull removed to try to reduce the swelling.
