Stream Lil Wayne’s ‘Tha Carter V’ Album Here When It Arrives

The countdown to Tha Carter V is officially here. This is Lil Wayne’s twelfth studio album and the fifth installment of his legendary Tha Carter series. Lil Wayne fans all over the world can finally experience what the game has been missing from Weezy. This prolific album was originally supposed to be released in 2014 but had been pushed back several times due to contractual disputes between Wayne and Cash Money Records. Weezy F also was very public about having personal issues with his rap game father and YMCMB head honcho, Birdman. Lil Wayne was said to have been released from the label this past June.

It will be interesting to hear the collaboration of music that will show up on Tha Carter V. The album was started in 2012 so there will definitely be songs on there that were recorded years ago. Music from then will be mixed with modern artists as well because the album is rumored to feature artists like Post Malone and the late young legend XXXtentacion. Drake and Mannie Fresh will also be featured on the album. Other artists supposedly on the album are Justin Timberlake, 2Chainz, Kendrick Lamar, and Big Sean. Lil Wayne also was rumored to have his daughter Reginae Carter as a feature as well.

One mystery, is the production on the album. Wayne has never been one to be scared to use the most popular production. Will we hear more classic rap beats from Swizz and Mannie or will Wayne use production from the new generation, like Metro Boomin’, Murda Beatz, Tay Keith, or Southside from 808 Mafia? Hopefully it will be a healthy combination of both. Years ago Soulja Boy, Mike Will Made It, and Mustard all said they had production on Tha Carter V. We’ll see if they still kept their spot.

The countdown for the album is on Lil Wayne’s site and we will update this article with a link when it’s available.
