On Sunday morning it was reported that Tekashi 69 was kidnapped, pistol whipped, and robbed when he arrived at his home after a music video shoot in Brooklyn, New York.
Though, updated reports would surface shortly after saying that the Brooklyn rapper was robbed but his story he gave police would differ from the one revealed by TMZ. According to police who spoke to the outlet, the rapper told them he was in a Chevy Tahoe and was hit from behind by another car. From there, two gunmen jumped out, took his driver’s iPhone, and took the rapper away. From there, they went to the rapper’s house, made him call his baby mama so that she could bring down his jewelry and money. He would end up being able to escape and tell this story to police.
Many believed that the story was a ‘fib’ and just a publicity stunt to promote his new track with Nicki Minaj titled Fefe which released the morning he was robbed. Now it has been revealed that surveillance footage via a camera down the street from where the incident occurred confirms 69’s robbery story. Investigators are still having a hard time make out who the suspects were despite having footage. The video footage has not been made available to the public as of yet.
