Brooklyn, New York artist Tekashi 69’s hit single Gummo premiered a month ago on FCK THEM‘s Youtube channel & has since gained a total of 35,000,000 plus streams on Youtube alone. The energy of the tune combined with the busy visual instantly made the clip a fan favorite. “N*ggas iffy, uh, Blicky got the stiffy, uh / Got the blicky, uh, drum it holds fifty, uh,/” 69 raps before gun shots fire & the audio engineer runs the track back from the top.
It has now been revealed that Gummo has made it’s debut on the Billboard 100 at #58. The unsigned rapper’s hype is similar to incarcerated Arlington, Texas artist Tay-K 47 who’s track The Race is still sitting on the Billboard 100 at #70.
Though, the numbers speak for itself Tekashi 69’s rise to the stop hasn’t been easy. The rapper recently sat down with DJ Akademiks to speak on sexual misconduct charges he caught in 2014 from a situation that occurred with a minor at the age of 17. Tekashi would reveal details of what occurred the night of the crime that caused him to catch the criminal charges. According to the Brooklyn rapper a young lady who lied about her age would attend a party while he was there. Known for recording wild moments Tekashi would record while at the party unaware that the teen was as young as she was. The upload of the video with the girl half naked would leave Tekashi in a sticky situation.
Despite the trials and tribulations & critics 69 is still managing to slowly make his mark in the rap game so stay tuned for more.
