Toronto Rapper Closely Affiliated With Drake, Smoke Dawg, Dead In Toronto At 21

A Toronto rapper, closely affiliated with Drake, Smoke Dawg was reportedly shot and killed in Toronto on Saturday.

According to CP24 gunfire occurred in broad daylight in the area of Queen Street West and Peter Street which is Toronto’s Entertainment District. The shooting took place around 8:00 p.m. EST. Police are saying suspects fled in either a black SUV or white vehicle. Two male victims and one female victim were hit and transported to a local Toronto hospital. Later one of the men would be pronounced dead, this man would be revealed to be Toronto rapper, Smoke Dawg.

In 2017 Smoke Dawg joined Drake for the Boy Meets World European Tour. His forthcoming project Struggle Before Glory was scheduled to release later this year.

Drake would leave a message responding to the news of Smoke Dawg being murdered stating, “All these gifts and blessed souls and inner lights being extinguished lately is devastating. I wish peace would wash over our city. So much talent and so many stories we never get to see play out. Rest up Smoke.”
