On Thursday in a Manhattan courtroom New York artist, Troy Ave, was indicted on charges in connection to the deadly Irving Plaza shooting that occurred on May 26 injuring Troy Ave, 2 women, & killing Troy Ave’s friend & BSB affiliate Ronald “Banga” McPhatter.
Troy Ave did not appear in court. ADA Chistine Keenan stated, “I’m filling a certificate of affirmative grand jury action.”
Ave was arrested on attempted murder charges and weapon possession, though the charges he’s indicted on are sealed at the moment.
Troy Ave’s lawyer’s stated that the rapper was establishing a $10,000 sports scholarship to New Utrecht High School in honor of Ronald “Banga” McPhatter’s death, him & McPhatter both attended the high school, McPhatter was an popular athlete at the high school.
Troy Ave’s attorney Scott Leemon wants anybody who witnessed the incident at the Irving Plaza to email him Troyaveinfo@leemonlaw.com. He stated, “We know people don’t want to cooperate with police, so we’re asking them to cooperate with us.” “He (Troy Ave) didn’t shoot McPhatter, he didn’t shoot himself. They are both victims.”
