UGK and Three 6 Mafia Were Going To Combine To Form A Hip-Hop Super Group

There are so many could’ve should’ve would’ve events in hip-hop that should’ve occurred that never quite happened. For example – Jay-Z, Ja Rule, & DMX were suppose to been the original Murder Inc. rap group (which would’ve been amazing). Now recently during a episode of Drink Champs Port Arthur, Texas legend Bun B revealed UGK & Three 6 Mafia were supposed to be a Hip-Hop super group, The Underground Mafia.

Bun B would state, “Sippin’ On Some Sizzurp was actually the first song from a group that UGK and Three 6 Mafia was doing together. We were going to be The Underground Mafia.” He would continue by saying, “I don’t know if too many people know that. A couple of people might know that. So Sippin’ on Some Sizzurp was for their album, and the song Like a Pimp was the song for our album. We did ’em Super Bowl weekend in Atlanta. We never got that far into it because Pimp ended up getting locked up. So we never even got to finish the project.”

He would further reveal that the original version of Int’l Player’s Anthem originally featured Three 6 Mafia though, that version was not able to be cleared. Check out the clip below:
