Toronto rapper Top5 has been arrested and charged in connection to the murder of 20-year-old Ontario man. The alleged incident took place in January.

The murder victim was 20-year-old Hashim Omar Ali. Along with being charged with accessory to murder he faces two counts of failure to comply with probation as well as three counts for drug possession with drug trafficking purposes. Top5’s attorney John Silver states that his client is innocent saying, “There’s still a lot of information surrounding this that we’re unaware of. At this time, we’re still awaiting basic information surrounding this event and Mr. Ali’s involvement if any.”

It was at the end of 2020 when Top5 appeared on video with DJ Akademiks. In the video he would claim that he was Drake’s shooter. “Drake that’s big dog. If somebody that doesn’t like Drake comes to the city we’re taking care of that,” Top 5 would stated. “I’m a shooter basically. I’m Drake’s shooter. Anybody disrespect Drake I’m shooting,” he would continue.

Top5 is set to appear in court on February 16th.
